COVID-19 Response from CCFCIV Elders & Deacons
Updated: March 13, 2020
Hello CCFCIV family,
In light of the fast-moving news of the Coronavirus, last night, our servant leaders (elders and deacons) have made an important decision for the time being:
Driven by our love and concern for our church family and the community around us, our church family will be moving our Sunday Worship service online only for the next few weeks to the end of March. All of our physical on-site gatherings will be temporarily suspended, or replaced with an online format, until the end of March. More details to come!
While our hope is for returning to physical on-site ministry gatherings April 5, 2020, we will continue to monitor conditions and do our best to keep you updated.
Although we are suspending physical gatherings, we are not suspending the mission of the church!
1. We want to continue being a church committed to preaching God’s Word
As we continue to monitor the Coronavirus situation, it is our commitment that we will keep you informed with the developments of our church family. Our hope and prayer is not only for our physical well-being, but that as a church we will press in to Jesus all the more and experience even greater spiritual growth during this time.
Let us be a people that radiate the presence and peace of Christ in these difficult times!
Love,
CCFCIV Elders and Deacons

1. We want to continue being a church committed to preaching God’s Word
- We’ll continue to worship together, but on-line for the next few weeks! Click here to access our live stream starting 11:00AM Sunday.
- We want to encourage you to preach the Good News to those around you. The mission of the church is to make Him known! Right now, the world is gripped by fear and anxiety. But as followers of Christ, we want to encourage you to react differently and find opportunities to share why we as Christians can enjoy the peace of Christ in times like these!
- There is no time like the present for His people to cry out to Him and to seek His face! If you’re in need of prayer, you can click here or email our prayer team at [email protected]
- Despite the pandemic, we encourage you to continue to exercise your spiritual gifts to serve one another and the world around you! Our servant leaders are committed to thinking about creative ways to use on-line experiences and resources for you and your family to serve others and to be served in your needs. More to come on this!
- Think of creative ways that you can serve one another and the world.
- Although we may not be physically on-site, God has given us so many means of communication. We want to encourage all of our brothers and sisters to make extra efforts to connect with one another to encourage and bless one another through phone calls, group texts, Facetime, WeChat groups! Reach out to people during the week - talk about what you’re struggling with, share encouraging words from God, share praises, and pray together through any means of communication!
As we continue to monitor the Coronavirus situation, it is our commitment that we will keep you informed with the developments of our church family. Our hope and prayer is not only for our physical well-being, but that as a church we will press in to Jesus all the more and experience even greater spiritual growth during this time.

Dear CCFCIV family,
There continues to be a growing number of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) globally, in the US, and within California. We continue to monitor developments COVID-19 through information provided by California Department of Public Health (Public Health), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and with regular consultation with our brothers and sisters who serve as doctors and healthcare workers in the medical field. Let us, as a whole church, be diligent in our prayers, and strive to love and faith in unity in our Lord Jesus Christ. May God lead us peacefully through this crisis and may His protection be over all His people.
To keep the virus (as well as cold, flu) from spreading, please stay home to rest and recover if you are sick or feel sick with symptoms.
We encourage everyone to exercise proper hygienic care in an effort to mitigate the spread of any illness:
As we trust the sovereignty of God and take the necessary precautions as He leads us, we encourage you to look to the Lord Jesus, confront our life situations through the lens of faith. Let us find comfort and confidence in His faithfulness to His people, and resist any urge to be fearful and panicked. Prayer is powerful, and God is our perfect source of comfort and care. We encourage everyone to remain faithful to God in our prayers, ask for His deliverance from this global crisis and that He be glorified through His people.
Guiding Principles
The guiding principles for us as we prepare and respond to the unfolding of this highly fluid situation created by COVID-19 are:
For the next few weeks and months, the leadership of the church will be focusing on the following areas. We call on you to come along and put our efforts together to (1) build up the church, (2) care for our brothers and sisters, and (3) honor God by demonstrating faith and hope in Christ Jesus in all that we do.
1. Actions for Immediate Implementation
2. Actions Being Considered and Planned for Implementation
3. Ongoing Considerations and Future Planning
Love in Christ,
Pastors James and Alex
Dear CCFCIV family,

May God lead us peacefully through this crisis and may His protection be over all His people.
To keep the virus (as well as cold, flu) from spreading, please stay home to rest and recover if you are sick or feel sick with symptoms.
We encourage everyone to exercise proper hygienic care in an effort to mitigate the spread of any illness:
- Frequent washing of hands with water and soap
- Refrain from touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with your hands
- When washing with water and soap is not available, use hand sanitizers containing at least 70% alcohol
- Refrain from close contact with people especially if you have traveled to or been in contact with someone from a highly affected region.
- Continue to focus on encouraging our brothers and sisters to assess and respond to the virus with faith and trust in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and our God the Father.
- Institute a policy for public health (like the one already in place for admitting children in the Stone House childcare). In addition, asking those with symptoms to remain home for rest and recovery; and, for those who recently traveled to be encouraged to self-quarantine for 14 days before attending meetings.
- Strongly encourage and remind people to practice good personal hygiene: wash hands with soap and water, use sanitizer, cover coughs, avoid touching face with unwashed hands, etc.
- We want everyone to care for those who may be ill (instead of avoiding/shunning them). So, we should be ready to check on those who are ill to see if they have needs, to provide for them and pray for them. And, for those who are under self-quarantine, to let us know so we know they are safe.
- Everyone is encouraged to show care and concern for the health of our church family (especially the elderly, the children, and those with weak immunity), prevent spread of any flu/viruses, care for those who fall ill, and protect those who are healthy.
- Regular updates and communications to church members
- Posting of COVID-19 info sheet on church website and around common areas (especially for Stone House/Nursery, kitchen, Sanctuary, Overflow Room, Activity Center).
- Kitchen servers to wear masks and gloves when serving food.
- Temporary halting of handshaking during Sunday worship greeting time. Instead, encourage verbal greeting.
- When weather and climate permits, open windows and doors to promote air circulation.
2. Actions Being Considered and Planned for Implementation
- Sunday service streaming
- Explore web-based, interactive solutions that can facilitate remote attendance for Bible studies, Sunday schools, prayer meetings.
- Establish “prayer chains” (or “caring chains”)
3. Ongoing Considerations and Future Planning
- Spring Retreat
- VBS
- Short-term Mission
Love in Christ,
Pastors James and Alex
